虛擬/機械模特兒的冒起 時裝造型師的喜VS悲
英劇《Black Mirror》第二季 ep1 “Be Right Back“ 將一個死人過去的網上言論、相片、視頻、行蹤,在人形機械人上重新還原他的性格及記憶。固然,只要人們想得到的,距離真正發生其實並不太遠。「機械人」(英語:Robot) 這個詞最初是由捷克作家卡雷爾·恰佩克 (Karel Čapek) 在他的科幻小說《R.U.R.(Rossum公司的通用機器人)》(1920年)中創造的,人類對人形機械人的研究已經進行了幾十年,而時尚也經常會和科技走在一起。
Kims Jones 入主 Dior 後,不但在第一個早秋男裝系列找來日本藝術大師空山基Hajime Sorayama攜手合作,將未來主義應用到該季的服裝系列當中,把巨大的 Sexy Robot 雕塑置入了秀揚,更在最近剛過去的2019秋冬男装系列時裝騷上,運用一條76米長的機械式傳送帶,將一個個機械人般的模特兒緩緩地帶到觀眾眼前。

早在去年7月,Gucci與《GQ》合作策劃的系列短片”The Performers“的第七集,就邀請了日本機械人之父、大阪大學智能機器人實驗室(IRL)的主任 Hiroshi Ishiguro 石黑浩教授,以及他所創造的2個機械人Erica 和 Geminoid HI-4 擔綱影片主角,探索人類與機械人之間的差異。

而隨著AI人工智能的興起,Balmain 亦在去年邀請了三位以數位技術打造的Virtual Model,組成Balmain Army,出鏡 Pre-Fall 2018 廣告大片。除了全球首位虛擬超模 Shudu Gram,其餘兩名名為Margot 與 Zhi 的 CGI 模特兒亦同樣擁有逼近真人的樣貌。

作為時裝造型師的我對此應該是悲喜交集吧,全能的Virtual Model雖然可以自訂樣貌、膚色以及身材,可以說沒有一件它們穿不好的衣服,因為「它們」竟直就是衣服們的衣服,讓衣服去完美地「穿上」它們,但對時裝造型師來說,究竟我是在參與類似電影工作的3D Modeling?還是真正的把衣服配搭注入不同人的個性觸感?時常說Styling工作就像「神打上身」,而要上Virtual Model們的身,感覺反而有點像回到St. Martins諗書的日子,為我們當年的「御用Model」Mary(塑膠模特兒衣架一名)穿衣服一樣,有一種非常迫真的乏味感。

拜託,千萬別把Vitual Model們弄得太過完美,總得帶着一定程度的缺失,才更顯出衣服的美好作用,誰叫人類就是不完美?
